Jon and I were pals all the way through primary school and we grew apart by the time we arrived at 'big school' but we had a bunch of laughs as kids.
He was enthusiastic and adventurous and was never afraid to take a risk.
He lived on Elm Trees around the corner from us and we'd often find ourselves roaming around the countryside looking for rabbits, secret caches of WWII weaponry, ghosts, or whatever sounded the most interesting at the time.
I've often wondered what became of Jon and i was sorry to hear he'd left us. I remind myself of the notion that the candle that burns twice as bright burns half as long.
